The Amboise Latex Mattress is Bio Sleep Concept’s most luxurious mattress. Designed for superior sleeping comfort your Amboise will be hand crafted with the best natural and organic materials available. The Amboise provides a tranquil nights rest year after year without deflection and consists of interchangeable layers of natural dunlop latex allowing you to choose the level of firmness you need. The traditional Amboise is 12 inches thick when assembled and is made up of a top 2 inch soft (ILD 22-24) layer, a middle 6 inch (or two 3 inch sections depending on mattress size) medium (ILD 28-30) layer, and a bottom 3 inch firm (ILD 32-34) layer. Each layer is covered with it’s own 100% organic tricot sock for easier handling and is placed inside a luxurious organic cotton and wool quilted zippered cover.
Make Extra Firm
The Amboise Latex Mattress already comes with 3 different firmness layers allowing up to 27 unique combinations but if you would like a firmer mattress overall we can swap out the soft layer with another medium. This lowers the possible combinations but creates a mattress that is guaranteed medium-firm or firmer which feels and sleeps like traditional European mattresses.

Premium memory foam and latex mattresses require more support than the traditional innerspring mattress. When looking for the perfect latex mattress foundation to protect your mattress investment keep in mind that there should never be more than 3 inches between slats used to support latex mattresses and foam mattresses; our Natural Wood Latex Mattress Foundation has spaces of 2.75 inches or less. Well the benefit of extra slats may not be immediately apparent after continual use of your new mattress on improper foundations will sag and even tears can start to form in your foam or latex mattress.

If you’ve been searching around for a mattress, stop here. Especially if you’ve been exploring anything in the natural / organic / non-toxic world, you know that the experience is nothing short of confusing and potentially exorbitantly expensive. We found this mattress after exhaustively searching (Essentia, Keetsa, Naturepedic, Flobeds, [and] even Casper, Leesa, and Tuft & Needle) and here’s the scoop: this mattress is awesome. It is customizable, all-natural, high-quality, perfectly packaged, and delivered to your door… And this high-end product comes in at a lower cost than the low-end versions of any of the other natural / organic brands mentioned above, only slightly higher than the synthetic ones that will be off gassing for days and weeks. I called Bio Sleep to ask a question about the layer configuration, and spoke to the owner of the company directly. He was gracious, helpful, and I couldn’t have been happier when I got off the line… Regarding assembly, am a 5’10” athletic male, and getting it all together and in the organic zippered cover solo was totally doable; the cover is actually quite forgiving. But bear in mind you’ll be pushing around 200 lbs of natural latex, so if you’re any less adventurous than I, you might want to enlist a partner. Bottom line: if you’re reading this review, take my advice. End the torture. Buy this mattress. You’ll be sleeping soundly again before you know it.

My wife and I purchased the 12” all natural Dunlop Latex King Mattress. It shipped in three separate boxes. The mattress cover in one box and two boxes of latex. The two boxes of latex layer are somewhat heavy so you will need help carrying them into your bedroom. Set up was fairly easy. Upon opening the mattress latex layers there was no odor. The 12” mattress was total bliss. It was not too firm nor too soft. No heat retention issues with this mattress. I would highly recommend this mattress to anyone looking for an all natural product.

We switched from a pillow top to this latex mattress. We wanted something non toxic and supporting. We have been sleeping on this bed for over 6 months and very happy… The bed comes in layers.

I had read a previous review about this mattress that was very positive, but was nervous about spending so much money on a mattress we couldn’t try out prior to purchase. I tried to review all mattress types on different sites and saw the satisfaction ratings for latex and memory foam were the highest. The latex offered some features I found advantageous–not sinking in as much, less gases, etc. This particular mattress design is ingenious. The four separate layers allowed us to pick our own firmness, they were light enough that I could assemble the bed myself, and to avoid the latex from compressing we can occasionally flip and switch the top layer so weight is distributed differently. The comfort of the mattress is superb, my shoulders don’t fall asleep when I lay on my side. Great design, great product, and GREAT price; significantly cheaper than competitors. This was a big purchase for us, but good sleep is so important to our quality of life it was a wise choice.

I placed an order for the Amboise Latex Mattress after returning a coil mattress from a reputable and popular company. I have a lot of injuries – most notably L5 S1 back surgery in my mid twenties. I have purchased and trial’d 5 different beds over the past two years from all memory foam, to all coil, to hybrids. While all offered some benefit in different areas none gave me the comfort, satisfaction, pressure relief and most importantly weightlessness that I was demanding. After much research I decided that a full latex bed was the next step in my journey. I researched so many companies that my head started spinning but I landed on Bio Sleep Concept through Houzz and dove in to figure out if this was the company for my next order.
It is very important to also note one thing: the customer service from Bio Sleep Concept and owner Christian is second to none. He helped me through the entire process, fielding my questions with patience and always responding promptly. Most of the time within an hour to one of my many emails. He also called me directly a few times to clarify a few points in the emails. This is above and beyond and for such an important purchase is was a breath of fresh air. I can’t express enough how appreciative I am for the help. There was a shipping problem due to COVID and Christian took care of it straight away as well.
The review wouldn’t be complete without a description of my experience with the bed. I received the bed in two boxes – one with the cover and the two medium firmness levels of latex (2 3′ portions of my Twin XL) and one box of the bottom firm layer and the soft top layer. No discernible smell from either box. I unboxed both packages and put the bed together, placing the firm foundation at the bottom, the two medium sections in the middle and the soft at the top followed by the very detailed and well done cover of organic cotton and wool. All latex pieces were labeled appropriately. After it was assembled I laid on it and initially thought that this was my holy grail but waited to see how I would sleep to determine my true satisfaction.
After five beds, many sleepless nights and with some of the other beds significant stiffness and pain in my neck and back upon wake up, I can honestly say that I have been sleeping better than I have in many years. I used to wake up multiple times per night and now I have been going to bed and waking up confused by the sunlight from my window, only to look at the clock in shock that I had slept straight through the night. No pain, no discomfort whatsoever. The Amboise provides the perfect support and weightlessness that I need to fall asleep and stay asleep. I get in bed and feel no pressure points which causes me to relax and drift to sleep quicker than I can remember. To say that I’m ecstatic is an understatement.
Also, after my many emails and discussions with the owner I came to learn that the latex is zoned in 7 different ways for support and this is a custom creation by Christian and his company. I don’t know how he did it but it is excellent. I don’t know if other latex bedding companies offer this type of zoned support but if you are looking for an all natural, eco friendly latex bed this is a definite separating point. It provides a superb sleeping experience.
